True Magazine Presents Streets is Watchin: Gillie Da Kid
PHILADELPHIA, PA (Sept. 13, 2014) — Philadelphia rapper Gillie Da Kid (Relumae Records) is creating hits in the studio while prepping for a November release of his much-anticipated upcoming album “Welcome to Gilladelphia.” The project is an eager follow-up to Gillie’s recent mixtape “King of Philly” which took over the streets when it dropped earlier this year to rave reviews. Fresh off the release of his latest visual for the gritty single “Not To Be Fucked With” featuring Jadakiss, the no-nonsense rap artist took a moment to shoot True Magazine’s “Streets Is Watchin” video series.
In the heart to heart interview, released the day after 9/11 Gillie keeps it real (as he always does) and tells young people in Philadelphia to “STOP killing each other” and warns fellow artists in the game to “stop being fake.” Filmed at a US Veterans cemetery in Philly, Part 1 of the video series shows a serious side of the famous rap star as he speaks on his hometown and the industry.
