Bay Area singer/songwriter Jane Handcock just released a fun new visual for “Function,” a stand-out track from her last EP, Where’s Jane? 1.5. The video has Jane showing her carefree creative side as she vibes with friends at a day party and channels Missy Elliot in some trippy close-up scenes.

“Function” shares Jane’s musings on having a good time, a more lighthearted topic than the feels-heavy ballads we know and love her for: Steelo no ego/ This here we got is regal/ I don’t fall in love, prohibido/ ‘Cause mi amor is too tough and lethal. But as Jane Handcock’s voice adds not one, but MANY fly flows over a track that sounds simultaneously upbeat and smooth, it’s clear this song is its own MOOD.
As Jane explained in a recent interview, “’Function’ was a fun thing to shoot…’Function’ the song is just fun in general. It’s just about being with friends, maybe talking to a little boo thang at the time and just wanting to have fun with your homies. I think a lot of people think I’m more serious than I am. I’m very fun and spontaneous at times. I think in the ‘Function’ video you’ll get to see a different side of me.”

While fans get to enjoy this latest visual from her last project, Jane is also releasing Where’s Jane? Series 2, another amazing EP featuring production from talent the likes of Adrian Marcel and Jaden Wiggins! As she continues to step out of her role as a writer and into the spotlight, there’s no doubt Jane Handcock is showing us something VERY different than what we’ve seen before. Listen to Where’s Jane? Series 2  below and follow her here if you’re ready for more —-> @handcockjay
